Matthew Chase Levy

Biography.

Matthew Chase Levy is an internationally recognized physicist and entrepreneur. He is an Honorary Fellow of Wolfson College, Oxford, a Trustee of The Washington Institute, and a founding advisory-board member of the Stanford University Nuclear Project.

He founded Noble Artificial Intelligence and served as its chairman and chief executive from 2018 to 2022. He is an author or co-author of more than twenty peer-reviewed manuscripts and is named on six patents. In 2026, he donated three patents spanning renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and biology to the University of Oxford.

Levy founded AE Blue Capital in 2023. Earlier in his career, he was a Lawrence Scholar at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and became the first American physicist named a Royal Society Newton International Fellow. He was a candidate for Governor of California in 2026 on a platform of clean energy, education, and affordability, and stepped down on 15 April, calling for unity among Democratic Party leaders.
